Carl Lamar Carl is celebrating his 37th year in radio broadcasting.  He was raised in Flagstaff, AZ and started his radio career in 1972. He worked at three radio stations there; leaving as General Manager in 1986. He served as General Sales Manager for the Navajo Nation’s 50,000 Watt station until his move to St. George in 1987. There he began as General Manager and morning show co-host for KONY and continues in those positions. Carl also served as Vice President of Broadcast Broadcasting until the year 2000. He is currently General Manager of Canyon Media which operates 99.9 KONY Country, 94.1 THE PLANET, 95.9 The Hawk, and FOX NEWSRADIO 1450. He has served as Past Board Member of the St. George Chamber of Commerce; past chairman and board member of the Washington Country School District foundation; past President and member of the Dixie Sunshiners; past member of the noon Exchange Club; past chairman and board member of the Bloomington Community Council, and past board member of the St. George Rotary Club. Currently Carl serves as President of the KONY Coins for Kids Charity. He enjoys music, singing, flying helicopters, ham radio and people! Carl and his wife Carmen are the proud parents of 4 children and 9 grandchildren.

Pet Peeves: People who don't put their shopping cart in the little cart corral. People who are making a left turn and go slowly through the light. Go, Already!
Phobias: snakes (I am terrified of them), wooden sticks like popsicle sticks (Can not let them touch my mouth) and small,cramped spaces.
